Our Vision

It started a little time ago as a fun endeavor with two friends Suyash and Rohit who used to jam together.
Though we had been classmates for a very long time, never before could we squeeze a moment to discover the musical gift in each other. The musical harmony struck chords with our minds and we began learning together. After a few months of jamming with each other, we decided to shape up an image construct for something we had tremendous faith in. And so, in the winter of 2010, “BODHIRSHAQ” was born.

Nothing much changed after this. Except the fact that the compositions turned sweeter. The rhythms got heavier and darker and the solos started to cross the predefined boundaries of melody. We began to garner appreciation form the ones around us and we have been struggling to increase our genuine fan base ever since.

We are not just a rock band; at least we don’t prefer believing that. We like to think of ourselves as the renovators of contemporary music. There is too much violence around for us humans to prosper and music has, always as much, had the magical power to heal. Well, as it stands, bringing peace around us remains to be one of our much emphasized goals.
There is a blank space between rage and serenity. We believe once that space has been explored inside the shore of our own subconscious, we tend to grow as better human beings.

That is exactly how we connect with our music. It heals us. It dissolves pain and brings peace to the mind. We don’t stress on our listeners to experience the same. We simply hope they could.

Bodhirshaq is not simply a musical project. It’s been really hard for us and we are still working our fingers to the bone to make it to the mainstream. To our dismay, we are yet to make some difference. But we believe in motivation. We believe in blessings. Blessings of our loved ones. Blessings of the ones that give us a chance to guide them or to learn from them. We believe in growing together.
That’s why at Bodhirshaq we invite strugglers to join us and learn from us and give us a chance to learn from them.

We have all seen bands, really famous and commercially acclaimed ones perform on grand stages. We have seen the crowd just giving itself away to them. We have witnessed amplifiers the size of cathedrals. We have all savored the glamour that flows through passionate musicians when they set their stages ablaze. We have seen their melodies driving millions towards them.

Feels invigorating! Doesn’t it?

Of course it does.

But, at Bodhirshaq, we invite you to witness the darker side of how an amateur burns every day to ripe into a musician. We invite you to witness how a band struggles when it dreams to make ends meet. The amount of efforts it puts in. The way it collects resources and learns to allocate them.

We understand that under normal behavioral patterns, anyone within their sane minds wouldn’t prefer to bask in such an arrangement.

But friends, remember, pioneers are also survivors.
The one who has tasted the bitterest fruit and survived is the one that can actually revel in the sweetness that comes to him as a reward for his perseverance.

They say geology is the study of time and pressure.
We believe our journey calls for the same parameters.

That’s all it takes!
Time and Pressure!
Think about it!

Cheers!
Bodhirshaq

Bodhirshaq - Introduction

BODHIRSHAQ* is a rock band which emphasizes on subjects that depict someone's struggle and his perspective for life. Rage, enthusiasm, craziness, freedom and victory are the "Panch Tatva" of our music. The songs contain lyrics which are highly motivational and will boost up your spirit of not giving up.

Extensive use of distorted guitars, heavy rhythm ,melodic lead solos along with a fine use of clean guitar riffs dissolved with variations produced by flanger increases essence and the depth of our songs. The melody of the songs is swaddled underneath hindi lyrics straight from a survivor's heart.

The band members are dedicated to music. Our passion to compose new stuff and to express our feelings has given birth to variations in the songs from basic structure to the various sound effects used. Love songs, romantic numbers and  soul healing instrumentals are exceptions.

*Bodhirshaq is a word formed by combining the Hindi words BODH( Intelligence, Knowledge) and SHAKTI (Power).
